Cycling Canada launches Environmental Sustainability Strategy on Earth Day 2026

In honour of Earth Day, Cycling Canada has officially launched its Environmental Sustainability Strategy, along with a list of other key resources for climate action within the cycling community.

The strategy, developed in collaboration with Racing to Zero, highlights the NSO’s strategic priorities, commitments, and tangible actions over the next 4 years, harnessing the role that cycling can play in creating a more environmentally friendly future. It also establishes ambitious emissions reduction targets aligned with the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework.

With the release of this strategy, Cycling Canada becomes the second NSO to showcase its commitments coming out of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s (COC) NSO Sustainability Pilot Project. This project was supported by the International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity Programme, and also included the measurement of an emissions baseline for 2025 and an educational component for the organization.
